Is there a tool that lets my customers annotate/draw on a PDF online without downloading it, and then save the new image? It will be a service on my web page. There’s too much hassle with downloading, opening, annotating, saving, and uploading again.

Both iAnnotate and GoodReader support proper PDF annotations. This means t appear as real annotations (with pop-up notes) when opened in other viewers like Nitro Reader, Nitro Pro and Add Notes To Reader, and can be replied to, etc. (If your viewer allows it). Whereas some other iPad PDF viewers I've tried treat the PDF pages as images and you wind up with scribbles directly on the page and no way to attach text feedback to them -- t are terrible for collaborating on. I'd give GoodReader a try first. The major difference between the two when annotation/drawing is GoodReader lets you attach text feedback to the drawing markups you add via pop-up notes. That is critical for me when marking up page content.

PDF documents can be cumbersome to edit, especially when you need to change the text or sign a form. However, working with PDFs is made beyond-easy and highly productive with the right tool.

How to Annotate PDF with minimal effort on your side:

  1. Add the document you want to edit — choose any convenient way to do so.
  2. Type, replace, or delete text anywhere in your PDF.
  3. Improve your text’s clarity by annotating it: add sticky notes, comments, or text blogs; black out or highlight the text.
  4. Add fillable fields (name, date, signature, formulas, etc.) to collect information or signatures from the receiving parties quickly.
  5. Assign each field to a specific recipient and set the filling order as you Annotate PDF.

Annotate PDF: All You Need to Know

I'm much faster and easier to keep focused when using t on a page for marking up. If you like t for marking up, you'll love Newsreader. If you want to save your documents as PDFs, Newsreader has a PDF to PDF conversion feature. For this, choose the format you want from the 'Export' drop down menu, select 'PDF' when asked and then 'Convert to PDF'. You can choose to save as 'PDF' or 'HTML', and optionally save your document as a custom PDF for other people to read (or a printout). If you'd rather not export your document, you can still save your document to your tablet's internal storage and then export it to PDF later, by selecting the 'File' option from the file list, choosing 'Save as PDF' and choosing 'PDF' from the export dialog. With this, you still have the option to 'Save and Export as PDF'.
